O Grupo de Oração é a expressão máxima da Renovação Carismática Católica. Estruturado em três momentos (reunião de núcleo, reunião de oração e grupo de perseverança), o Grupo de Oração é uma comunidade cristã que busca vivenciar a experiência e instrução de Pentecostes, sempre em unidade e obediência à Igreja. Centrado no louvor, o Grupo de Oração busca provocar o Pentecostes pessoal em cada um de seus membros: uma constante conversão, busca de uma vida sacramental, prática das virtudes. O Grupo de Oração também proporciona a experiência de Jesus Ressuscitado, pelo amor do Pai, através da Pessoa do Espírito Santo.
Então, afinal, o que é um Grupo de Oração?
O Grupo de Oração é a célula fundamental da Renovação Carismática Católica; é o lugar da expectativa e, ao mesmo tempo, da realização da promessa perene de Deus; é cenáculo de Pentecostes dos dias atuais, onde juntamente com Maria nos reunimos em humildade e unânime oração, para que se cumpra a promessa feita tanto para os homens de ontem, quanto para os de hoje.
O grupo de oração caracteriza-se pela espontaneidade, alegria, acolhimento e pela maravilhosa imprevisibilidade do Espírito Santo!

O nosso Grupo de Oração é uma comunidade carismática presente na paróquia que cultiva a oração, a partilha, e todos os outros aspetos da vivência do Evangelho, a partir da experiência da efusão do Espírito Santo. Tem na reunião de oração sua expressão principal de evangelização querigmática e que, conforme sua especificidade e mantendo sua identidade, se insere no conjunto de comunhão, participação, obediência e serviço. Os membros, sob a direção do seu capelão, líderes e servos – através de encontros, orações e formação – buscam “fazer acontecer um processo poderoso de renovação espiritual, que transforma a vida pessoal do cristão e todos os seus relacionamentos com Deus, com a família, com a Igreja e a comunidade”.
Portanto, o objetivo do Grupo de Oração é levar os participantes a experimentar o Pentecostes pessoal, a crescer e chegar à maturidade da vida cristã plena do Espírito, segundo os desejos de Jesus: ªEu vim para que as ovelhas tenham vida e a tenham em abundânciaª (João 10,10b). Nesse sentido, caracteriza-se por três momentos distintos, porém interdependentes: núcleo de serviço, reunião de oração e grupo de perseverança.

The Prayer Group is the highest expression of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. Structured in three phases (core meeting, prayer meeting, and perseverance group), the Prayer Group is a Christian community that seeks to experience and learn from Pentecost, always in unity and obedience to the Church. Centered on praise, the Prayer Group seeks to provoke a personal Pentecost in each of its members: a constant conversion, a pursuit of a sacramental life, and the practice of virtues. The Prayer Group also provides the experience of the Risen Jesus, through the love of the Father, through the Person of the Holy Spirit.
So, what exactly is a Prayer Group?
The Prayer Group is the fundamental cell of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal; it is the place of expectation and, at the same time, of the fulfillment of God's perennial promise. This is a modern-day Pentecostal cenacle, where together with Mary we gather in humility and unanimous prayer, so that the promise made to the men of yesterday and today may be fulfilled.
The prayer group is characterized by spontaneity, joy, welcoming atmosphere, and the wonderful unpredictability of the Holy Spirit!

Mount Tabor Prayer Group
Our Prayer Group is a charismatic community present in the parish that cultivates prayer, sharing, and all other aspects of living the Gospel, based on the experience of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Its main expression of kerygmatic evangelization is the prayer meeting, which, according to its specific characteristics and while maintaining its identity, is integrated into the whole of communion, participation, obedience, and service. The members, under the direction of their chaplain, leaders, and servants – through meetings, prayers, and formation – seek to “bring about a powerful process of spiritual renewal that transforms the personal life of the Christian and all their relationships with God, with family, with the Church, and the community.”
Therefore, the goal of the Prayer Group is to lead participants to experience a personal Pentecost, to grow and reach the maturity of a Christian life full of the Spirit, according to Jesus' desires: "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10b). In this sense, it is characterized by three distinct, yet interdependent moments: service core, prayer meeting, and perseverance group.
