COORDENAÇÃO DE CASAMENTOS / WEDDING COORDINATION
“Então o Senhor Deus disse: ‘Não é bom que o homem esteja só; Farei para ele uma companheira que lhe seja adequada.’ ... Por isso, o homem deixa pai e mãe e une-se à sua mulher, e tornam-se uma só carne.” [Genesis 2, 18, 24]
“A aliança matrimonial ... é, pela sua natureza, ordenado para o bem dos cônjuges e para a procriação e educação dos filhos; este pacto entre batizados foi elevado por Cristo Senhor à dignidade de sacramento.” [Catecismo da Igreja Católica, 1601]
O Matrimónio é o sacramento pelo qual um homem e uma mulher batizados estabelecem livremente entre si uma união – uma parceria – para toda a vida. Esta aliança de amor é, pela sua natureza, ordenada para o bem dos esposos e para a procriação e educação dos filhos; esta aliança entre batizados foi elevada por Cristo Senhor à dignidade de sacramento (Catecismo da Igreja Católica, no. 1601). Esta aliança é feita entre um homem e uma mulher diante de Deus e dura toda a vida. O amor entre os casais é como o amor de Nosso Senhor pela Sua Igreja. O objetivo final de um casal é levar o cônjuge e os filhos para o céu.
Os casais vivem o seu sacramento pela forma como cuidam um do outro, se amam e se entusiasmam um pelo outro como marido e mulher. No amor diário que demonstram um pelo outro, pelos filhos e pela comunidade em geral, tornam-se um sinal vivo (um sacramento) do quanto Jesus nos ama e deseja acolher-nos como Seus irmãos e irmãs. Ao enfrentarem crises e dificuldades conjugais e familiares, testemunham o poder do Espírito Santo a atuar em todas as nossas vidas.
Para viverem este ideal de casamento cristão, os casais devem ter a capacidade de dar e receber amor e de manter uma relação íntima. Devem também ter uma relação pessoal com Jesus Cristo e com o Seu Corpo, a Igreja.

“The matrimonial covenant ... is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament.” [Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1601]
Marriage is the Sacrament by which a baptized man and a woman freely establish between themselves a union - partnership - of the whole of life. This covenant of love is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 1601). This covenant is made between a man and woman in front of God and lasts a lifetime. The love between married couples is as our Lord loves His Church. The ultimate goal of a married couple is to get their spouse, and children, to heaven.
Married couples live out their sacrament by the way they care for one another, love one another, and are enthusiastic for one another as husband and wife. In their daily love for each other, their children, and the larger community, they become a living sign (a sacrament) for all of how much Jesus loves us and wishes to embrace us as His brothers and sisters. As they work their way through marital and family crises and struggles, they are witness to the power of the Holy Spirit at work in all our lives.
In order to live out this ideal Christian marriage, couples must have the ability to give and receive love and to sustain an intimate relationship. They must also have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and His Body, the Church.
